Small Group

We live in a world that is fragmented in its network of supportive relationships, and yet we cannot be healed and brought to wholeness and maturity apart from life-giving relationships. At the Vineyard we have found that friendships, personal growth and pastoral care are best developed in the community of small groups. . Our core small groups are called Home Groups, but we offer other small group experiences as well during the year.

Home Groups

Sometime called cell groups or care groups; Home Groups are small groups of 8-15 people who meet weekly in people’s homes to grow in their relationship with God and each other through a time of worship, bible study, praying for each other and just hanging out and having fun together. Home Groups also provide a place to discover and develop gifts and leadership. Participation in a Home Group is a prerequisite for membership and to serve in certain areas of ministry. We have Home Groups meeting throughout the area. We recommend that you call ahead to make sure that the group is still meeting at the same place and time.

The Alpha Course

The Alpha Course is an eleven (11) week small group opportunity to explore the validity and relevance of the Christian faith to your life today.  It provides a practical introduction to the basics of Christianity centered around a meal, a talk and a small group discussion that takes place in a home. The style of Alpha is relaxed, fun and non-pressured.  Topics include Who is Jesus?, Why and How Do I Pray?, What About the Holy Spirit?, and Does God Heal Today? Over 1.5 million people have taken the Alpha course in the US and Canada. The Alpha is for anyone who is interested in investigating Christianity as well for Christians who want to brush up on the basics.

    Next Alpha Course: TBD

The Marriage Course

The Marriage Course is a series of eight (8) weekly sessions designed to help any married couple strengthen their relationship.  It’s a great opportunity to spend time together as a couple looking at the important issues in your marriage. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been married for less than two years or more than thirty. If you have a strong marriage this course will help you make it even better and will reinforce your good habits.  If on the other hand your marriage is in difficulty, the course will help provide you with very practical tools to help you work through the issues. Each week you are given the opportunity to listen to a talk. Topics include The Art of Communication, Resolving Conflict and Good Sex, to name a few. Following the talk there is plenty of time to discuss the topic as a couple. No group work is involved at any stage of the course.

     Next Marriage Course: TBD
